Abstract: This report presents an overview of well-established approaches to teacher professional development such as mentoring and coaching along with brief guidance on how they might be planned in a school. It also introduces a relatively new (to the UK) approach to teacher professional development, the Research Lesson Study(RLS) – sometime known simply as Lesson Study.
