Abstract: This research identified the current extent of early needs (i.e from the point of diagnosis) across Northern Ireland and provided a literature review of best early intervention practices to inform effective planning. It makes recommendations to ensure that parents of children with autism receive support tailored to individual needs and circumstances from the point of diagnosis until pre-school.
